I was on page "xi" and came to that conclusion. *Copy provided in exchange for an honest review*įirstly let me say right off the bat: the photos of these two idiots are worth the price of admission. Maybe I'll wait for Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change to show everyone how it's done. Not a bad book but not at the level I was expecting. I think it's a bit like The Greatest Love Story Ever Told, which is excellent in audio but not great in print. I think hearing the laughter in their voices and the way they deliver the commentary would have make it so much better.

I bet you good money that this book is 100x better in audiobook format. The final result was a mildly funny, sort of strange mash-up of everything they wanted the book to be but without ever really being successful. They are no Tina Fey or Mindy Kaling when it comes to comedy writing, that's for sure. I feel like the book couldn't decide if it wanted to be a parody, comedy book, or something more true to life. Take all of those things away and make them try to get that same dynamic on paper and it's. Trixie and Katya are hilarious just riffing off one another, and I think it's a combination of their quick wit, facial expressions, and sound effects that makes it so special.

I religiously watch their YouTube show, UNHhhh (if you haven't watched it, you must), and I laugh throughout the whole thing. I'm a huge Drag Race fan, and I love my comedy queens, so of course I'm obsessed with Trixie and Katya. This pains me deep in my fan-girl heart to say, but Trixie and Katya's Guide to Modern Womanhood wasn't as funny or as clever as it wanted to be.
